Katherine Botts Whitaker is a creative professional based in Springfield, MO. Katherine holds a BFA in design/illustration from Missouri State University. She graduated with triple minors in art history, advertising/promotions, and creative writing.
An accomplished illustrator and designer, Katherine has a decade of professional freelance experience. Her client list includes the Springfield Art Museum, Phillips Exeter Academy department of Theatre & Dance, Fuller Youth Institute, A & S Hospitality, Moon City Press and more.
She maintains a fiber arts practice, with a focus on embroidery. Previously, she served as an artist-in-residence in rural Ozarks schools. Partnering with the Springfield Art Museum and the Springfield Regional Arts Council, she engaged with K-12 students as a teaching artist. Her embroidery samplers have been featured in the Ozarks Gallery at ArtsFest (Springfield, MO) and at multiple Springfield Regional Arts Council exhibitions, including "Caught My Eye," a juried group show. Her fiber and wood installation Notes on A Vision is in the permanent collection at Bridgespace, a Lee’s Summit business/tech incubator.
Katherine is pursuing a Master of Professional Studies in Applied Communication at Missouri State University.
